Time for a Facial

There is nothing as relaxing as getting a facial. It’s one of life’s little luxuries that helps us relax (and we get to work on boosting the health and radiance of our skin, too). Though we know and love facials well, there’s a first time for everyone. If you’ve never had a facial and are thinking of taking the plunge–either to prepare for a wedding, treat your skin, or simply to relax–keep reading to learn about facials and what to expect during your first treatment.

What should I expect?

Before your treatment, your facialist will ask you about your overall skin’s health and if you have any specific concern that you want treated. Specific skin concerns like wrinkles or acne can be focused on with tailored products and techniques. A facial generally includes a cleanse, exfoliation, steam (with towels or a steam machine), massage, and a treatment mask. You may also choose to add a therapeutic scalp or neck massage to amp up the relaxation. No matter your concerns, mention them, and we may be able to help.

How should I prepare?

Come prepared to relax and enjoy being pampered! If you have very long hair, you may want to bring a hair tie so you can keep it out of the way. You may also opt to remove your makeup beforehand, especially if you have a favorite cleanser or system. If not, we can assist with keeping your hair safe and secure, and also with helping remove makeup before your treatment begins.

Will it hurt?

You shouldn’t feel pain or discomfort during a routine facial. One of our favorite parts of a facial is that it is relaxing and rejuvenating. We will ask if you would like extractions, which may be a little less relaxing than the rest of the facial. The results often make those few moments well worth it! Generally, there is no discomfort and a facial is the most relaxing thing you’ll do all month.
