What Is The Erbium YAG Laser?
Erbium YAG “Ablative” fractional resurfacing lasers are used to improve photodamaged skin with reduced downtime and risks as compared to traditional ablative lasers* and is now offered by our providers at our cosmetic medical spa in Bedford, NY.
Erbium YAG lasers are absorbed by water in the body, while laser light is passed over the skin. The light is then absorbed by the water in the underlying tissue which removes the dead skin layer above. Once the light reaches live tissue, it can’t go any deeper. This absorption causes mild heat and stimulates collagen and elastin rejuvenation.*
Erbium YAG lasers stimulate a therapeutic response deep in the dermis providing treatments for actinic (solar lentiginosis), actinic keratosis, flat seborrheic keratosis, and fine/deep wrinkles. Erbium YAG lasers are solid-state lasers whose lasing medium is erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet.*

For selected skin conditions, this laser treatment offers benefits, such as*:

How Does The Erbium YAG Laser Work?
