Uses For Mesotherapy
Dr. Jacque Le Coz, former president of the French Society of Mesotherapy and Mesotherapist for the French National Sports Teams, has written three books on Mesotherapy, including: Mesotherapie et Medecine Esthetique (Solal Publishing, France), Mesotherapie et Traumatologie Sportive (Masson Publishing, France), and Mesotherapie en Medecine Generale.
Dr. Le Coz outlines more than 120 conditions that Mesotherapy has shown to be effective for, including the following:
- Face & Neck Rejuvenation
- Flaccid Skin
- Stretch Marks
Mesotherapy & Aesthetic Medicine
The primary reason these injections are so effective for wrinkles is that when administered correctly the injections reach not only the different layers of the skin, but the subcutaneous fat as well, helping reverse the physiology. Wrinkles, like other conditions involving the skin, have a multi-factorial etiology. The causes of excessive skin wrinkles are the following: overall dehydration, excessive sun exposure, genetics, facial expressions, muscle atrophy, fatty acid deficiencies, hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies and other known and unknown causes. It is best to utilize mesotherapy for wrinkles in the context of a comprehensive natural medicine program to correct some of the above causes.
For the person with stress and increased muscle contraction in the forehead, we can inject Botox alongside the Mesotherapy treatment. Excessive wrinkles can also signal advanced or aggressive aging, which emphasizes the need even more to utilize Mesotherapy alongside a comprehensive Mid-Life Medicine regime. This may involve the use of regenerative therapies, natural hormone replacement, nutraceuticals, appropriate metabolic-type diet and other Mid-Life Medicine measures.
What Is Skin Rejuvenation With Mesolift?
The aging process can be cruel to our skin. Between sun damage and progressive collagen loss, the skin loses its plumpness and resiliency. Mesotherapy skin rejuvenation or “Mesolift” infuses the dermis with antioxidants and vitamins to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin. We have many happy patients who have had a “Mesolift” and describe their skin as firm, radiant, youthful and glowing. The “Mesolift” is usually performed in an initial series of 2-4 treatments spaced a week apart, followed by 2 sessions spaced a month apart. Results are maintained twice a year with touch-up sessions.
Mesotherapy For Face – Experience From An Actual Patient:
“So this Thursday I’ve had mesotherapy on my face – for those who don’t know what it is: it’s mesogun injections with a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamins and other skin nutrients, injected into the face and around the eye area. First I got a cream to numb my skin – had to have it on for like 15 minutes, no unpleasant feelings, then the treatment started with the series of injections. There is some discomfort, mild or medium depending on the area-but I can’t say it was an unpleasant procedure-maybe because I actually don’t mind needles. After the procedure you get a cooling, soothing cream and then a nourishing cream. The skin is red and there are tiny bumps on it in places of injection but they dissolve really quickly. There is swelling and redness but in my case the redness quickly dissipated. The swelling went down a few days later, but my skin is in much better condition – smoother, reduced fine lines, and the full effects of this treatment are yet to come! I’m so impressed that I’ve booked two more treatments at two week intervals to get the best results from this treatment. So far I’m thrilled. My face is finally starting to look like I remember it from just 2 years ago before all the stress and craziness.” –Violett.
The History Of Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a technique invented in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor where medication is injected into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin. Over the past 50+ years, 50,000+ physicians worldwide have used the fat-melting procedure for a variety of purposes, including overall weight loss, spot weight reduction and cellulite reduction. Mesotherapy is also used regularly to help with hair loss, scar revision and wrinkle elimination.
In 1987, the French Academy of Medicine recognized Mesotherapy as an inherent part of traditional medicine. The International Society of Mesotherapy encompasses 14 countries throughout Europe, USA and South America.
The noninvasive liposuction is a technique using very small doses of compounded medications that are administered in specific areas, depending on the condition being treated. The medicines and plant extracts used are obtained from compounding pharmacies.
All medicines are FDA-approved for their use. In combination, medicines for Mesotherapy are used for off-label purposes. A recent illustration of this distinction is Botox. Although Botox was FDA-approved for controlling muscle spasms, the medical community embraced it for its cosmetic properties of controlling wrinkles. For many years, plastic surgeons and dermatologists used Botox for off-label purposes.
