What Are Mesoestetic Peels?
Mesoestetic Peels are a premium line of facial peels we offer at Primary Aesthetic Skin Care. These peels offer different strengths of peeling agents to force exfoliation of the dead skin cells on the face. These peels then encourage the production of smoother, softer skin to replace the exfoliated outer layer.
These peels come in different concentrations of glycolic, salicylic, mandelic, lactic, Pyruvic, and trichloracetic acid options.
What Are The Benefits Of Having One Of These Mesoestetic Peels?
These peels are suitable for all skin types and can be used on areas of the body in addition to the facial skin. At Primary Aesthetic Skin Care, we use Mesoestetic Peels for:
- Sun-damaged skin
- Acne
- Blemishes
- Aging skin
- Areas with uneven skin tone
- Abnormal pigmentation
- Superficial scars
- Large pores
- Age spots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
What Should I Expect During A Mesoestetic Peel?
We start these peels by thoroughly cleansing your skin. Your aesthetician then applies the peel solution with a brush. This is left on for a set period of time during which your aesthetician stays with you and watches how your skin is reacting.
The aggressiveness of the peel is dictated by a couple of things: the solution used and the time applied.
For more aggressive peels we provide you with a hand-held fan to cool your skin.
When the prescribed time is up, the solution is removed with a damp cloth. An alkaline solution is then applied to fully neutralize your skin.
How Are Mesoestetic Peels Different?
These high-quality peels can be tailored to each patient’s unique skin needs. Thanks to these new formulations, unlike most peels, patients can return to work right after a Mesoestetic Peel at Primary Aesthetic Skin Care. Mesoestetic Peels improve the skin through three mechanisms of action:
Quantitative Increase Of The Glycosaminoglycans
- Increase the presence of water in the dermis
- Reduces wrinkles
Changes In The Dermal Collagen And Elastin
- Reorganization and stimulation of the structural dermal elements
Stimulation Of Fibroblast Function
- Increase in the activity of the fibroblasts
- Increased hydration
What Is The PCA Peel?
The PCA Peel takes a popular peel formulation, known as Jessner’s Peel, and improves upon it. Jessner’s Peel is a medium-depth peel that combines resorcinol, lactic acid, and salicylic acid for deeper penetration and greater exfoliation of the outer layers of skin cells. The PCA Peel expands and modifies the formula to allow the PCA Peel to be used on a wider range of patients with increased benefits and no downtime.
What Are The Benefits Of A PCA Peel?
The PCA Peel is great for patients with acne and oily or thicker skin because it decreases oil production and opens clogged sebaceous glands in the hair follicles. The PCA Peel improves the skin on a deeper level, improving both acne conditions and hyperpigmentation. We use PCA Peels to improve these skin issues:
- Acne
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun damage
- Enlarged pores
- Oily skin
What Should I Expect From A PCA Peel?
PCA Peels are applied after your skin has been thoroughly cleansed. The PCA Peel is applied with a brush and left on your skin for a prescribed period of time. When that time is up, we remove the peeling agent and neutralize your skin. Unlike Jessner Peels, which actually require pre-treatment at home and create some heavier skin peeling for about a week afterward, PCA Peels at Primary Aesthetic Skin Care will only create some slight flaking and your skin will feel tight, but you can return to work or your normal activities immediately afterward. You’ll need to avoid sun exposure for two weeks.
How Are PCA Peels Different?
As mentioned above, the PCA Peel is similar to the Jessner Peel, a relatively aggressive peel for treating acne-prone, oily skin. The PCA Peel delivers similar exfoliation, acne reduction, and skin improvement, yet it does so with a far less harsh formulation.
The PCA Peel starts with the lactic and salicylic acids and resorcinol of the Jessner Peel formulation, but it moderates its harshness by adding kojic and citric acids and hydroquinone.
These additions make the PCA Peel equally effective, but more safe and comfortable for a wider variety of skin types.
