What Is Fractora RF Microneedling?
Fractora RF Microneedling is a combination of two robust cosmetic procedures, RF skin tightening and microneedling, that creates results not possible with any one treatment alone.
Fractora RF is a fractionated radiofrequency device that delivers thermal energy to stimulate collagen production below the epidermis or top layer of skin. It has been clinically established that heating the skin enables tissue manipulation which manifests as resurfacing or rejuvenation techniques affecting the superficial appearance. Thus, radiofrequency energy helps strengthen existing collagen and trigger new production. Skin tightens due to immediate contraction of collagen and collagen formation.
On the other hand, microneedling typically involves a practitioner using a SkinPen device to deliver sharp spikes to the skin, creating dermal injury that triggers the skin’s healing processes. By modestly stimulating the skin with ‘microneedle’ pokes, microneedling again triggers the skin to rebuild collagen in affected areas, helping increase cellular activity in the skin. Needles do not inflict permanent damage or create scarring but in fact can lessen the appearance of existing scars. This procedure often blends and softens the appearance of fine lines and scars.
With Fractora RF Microneedling, you can induce collagen with two powerful techniques, giving you superior results to just RF skin tightening or microneedling alone. Moreover, we can perform Fractora RF Microneedling Bedford on the face or any area of the body (neck, arms, buttocks) that requires mild to moderate tightening and resurfacing.
Who Do We Recommend This Treatment For?
If you are concerned about future skin looseness, or if you have sagging skin, you may consider this treatment to both tighten and improve skin tone or texture. Note that this treatment cannot address severe skin laxity, but it can improve the appearance of hanging skin, such as turkey neck. It also has widespread benefits even if you have healthy collagen production, because it stimulates collagen growth. People with a history of acne, including people with acne scars or active acne, may benefit. Pocketing in skin may become less noticeable, or general laxity in certain areas. Fractora RF Microneedling is a great treatment if you’re concerned about aging’s effect on your skin, and it provides benefits either treatment alone cannot provide.
How Does Fractora RF Compare To Other Radiofrequency Technologies?
Fractora RF utilizes a slightly different delivery system than many other RF technologies. Basically, it delivers radiofrequency energy through pins or small channels in contrast to a widespread, uniform delivery. The machine uses micropins to treat skin at various depths, allowing a high degree of personalization. With a different RF delivery, results may not be as significant, because the technology may not deliver more heat to the areas that need the intervention most. Thus, Fractora RF is a revolutionary advancement in radiofrequency-based skin tightening.
At Primary Aesthetic Skin Care, we offer a few alternative procedures that may better fit your needs. All our procedures work great and are minimally-invasive. We can administer PDO sutures, which are bio-safe stitches that hold skin in a tighter, more ideal structure. Otherwise known as Novathreads, this revolutionary treatment can reposition skin in more aesthetically desirable ways. Other than this creative intervention, we offer another heat-based tightening procedure known as BTL Exilis. This procedure has widespread applicability, suitable for tightening the decollete, hands, bra rolls and even knees. We will ultimately decide on a procedure that works best to achieve your desired look and is practical in achieving your goals.
How Are The Side Effects?
Compared to laser-based cosmetic procedures, radiofrequency (especially Fractora) carries a smaller risk of treatment-related pigmentation. Reduced risk relates to the method of delivery. RF Microneedling can correct skin in adequate proportions by focusing mostly on the problem areas. In some cases with lasers, especially non-fractionated ones, you may risk unintended pigmentation.
Fractora RF Microneedling does carry some side effects. These include, but are not limited to, pain during procedure, transient pain, redness (erythema), swelling (edema), bruising and hyperpigmentation.* We cannot tell you how you will react, but we can advise you based on your current skin condition regarding the expected intensity and duration of the procedure. Everyone has different needs, so we don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach in our treatment strategy.
We recommend a few practices to ensure you have a comfortable, pleasant experience with Primary Aesthetic Skin Care. Before your RF Microneedling Bedford treatment, abstain from use of blood thinners for a few days in advance. These include alcohol, fish oil and NSAIDS like aspirin. The longer you abstain, the better your odds that you won’t see more grisly-looking bruising. Don’t worry; these effects are temporary.
During the procedure, expect some pain. The pins will hurt as they press into your skin but don’t expect the pain to linger in any one spot. Certain areas on your face or body may hurt more than others due to increased nerve sensitivity, but don’t expect to feel overwhelmed. We administer topic analgesic to make the procedure comfortable.
