The weather is cooling down but that doesn’t mean you can just hide away your body under sweaters and long pants. If you’re like us, you don’t slow down. Fall and winter are great for vacationing, and sitting in the hot tub after a day of playing outside. But why keep shaving those annoying areas every day? If you’re sick and tired of shaving your legs every day, or just ready to be done with the little peach fuzz on your upper lip, fall is a great time to start laser hair removal treatments. Keep reading to learn about laser hair removal treatments and what to expect.
We use the LightPod Neo laser machine, which is tailored to hair removal, and is generally regarded as more gentle and painless than many other hair removal lasers. This laser delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat to treat and remove unwanted hair on the body.
What can I expect during laser treatment?
The LightPod Neo laser utilizes a small handheld piece to allow us better control when we direct the laser on your skin. Depending on the area being treated, your appointment could last a few minutes or up to an hour. The larger the area, the more time it will take us to go over it with the laser. Generally, the LightPod Neo is regarded as nearly painless, but if you experience discomfort then we can discuss a topical cooling agent or something similar to help you stay comfortable.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
The condition of your skin and the area you want treated will affect the final amount of treatments you need to be completely free of hair. Hair removal requires multiple treatments, as different hairs grow in different cycles. Your treatments should be spaced about 3-4 weeks apart to make sure each hair is successfully treated.
How do I prepare for treatment?
You will need to forgo tweezing, waxing, or electrolysis for around six weeks before your laser hair removal treatments. Avoid being in the sun and tanning beds a few days before your treatment.
What do I do afterwards?
Avoid sunlight and tanning beds for a day or so after each treatment. We will discuss any further after-care with you during your consultation.
