Our skin is resilient, but it’s rarely perfect. And while we know we’ll always have some flaws, we don’t want acne to be one of them. Thankfully, laser skin resurfacing can help restore the smooth, clear look of your skin. Keep reading to learn about two acne treatments we offer, so you can make the best choice for yourself.

Fractora

Fractora is fractional skin resurfacing, but it doesn’t use laser energy as many skin resurfacing treatments do. Radiofrequency energy is delivered into the dermis, the skin’s second layer in this amazing treatment. The Fractora handpiece contains delicate pins, similar to what you may have experienced with microneedling treatments. These tiny pins create microscopic channels through the epidermis. As the needles penetrate the epidermis, each one delivers bipolar radiofrequency energy directly into the dermis.

VI Peel

The VI Peel is composed of a synergistic blend of gentle yet powerful peeling agents to help turn over skin and leave the radiant skin beneath. It is one of today’s most popular and effective paths to a more beautiful complexion.

This treatment uses a combination of alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, resorcinol and retinoic acid. You will be left with improved tone, texture and clarity.

Who is a good candidate for these treatments?

We think that both options can give you more radiant skin. Depending on your specific concerns, we may recommend one treatment over the other.

Skin resurfacing with Fractora has much shorter recovery time when compared to a sometimes rather lengthy period of redness that can come with other fractional laser resurfacing methods. Fractora doesn’t cause issues with hyperpigmentation, so patients with darker skin tones have great results with this treatment. Fractora can be used on more sensitive areas such as the eyelids and around the mouth, as well.

The VI Peel may require some downtime, which is very common with chemical peels. If you do not have time to stay indoors, a peel may not be the best option for you.
